Lanka Education and Research Network (LEARN) is proud to host more than 100 locations around Sri Lanka with high-speed academic and research network hotspots supporting eduroam. LEARN has taken this initiative to promote global wi-fi roaming to Sri Lankan R&E community and it will allow any eduroam user to get connected to LEARN from any of these hotspots free of charge. All costs associated with this will be bared by LEARN itself and the global R&E community can get the benefit of accessing network free around the country.

eduroam is a wireless roaming service that provides free Internet access to the research and education community globally. Users of eduroam can access there institute networks/Internet through LEARN securely and free without any limitations and charges. As of the beginning of 2020, there were eduroam users from 106 countries, and expanding eduroam coverage to depths of Sri Lanka would help students and academia to get connected to different online content easily and at no cost.

Any local R&E user from LEARN Member institutes is eligible to have eduroam account and you have to contact your institute IT department in getting that. If you are a roaming eduroam user, please check https://eduroam.ac.lk for the available nearest location. Happy eduroaming.
