India is to connect NKN to research and education networks of SAARC nations; Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Pakistan is the only SAARC nation that has been left out of this initiative.

The 1Gps link to LEARN is going to be inaugurated on 15th January 2018.
