Job Summary: Job Summary: We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager/Civil Engineer to lead the development of a new office space for our company. This is a contract position based in Peradeniya. The successful candidate will be responsible for finding a suitable location, completing necessary documentation, obtaining required approvals, and finalizing architectural and engineering plans. The role requires strong project management skills, expertise in civil engineering, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Location Identification:
- Conduct thorough research to identify potential locations for the new office space in Peradeniya.
- Evaluate site suitability based on factors such as accessibility, infrastructure, zoning regulations, and cost.
- Coordinate site visits and assessments to determine feasibility.
- Documentation and Approvals:
- Prepare and manage all necessary documentation related to site acquisition, including contracts, permits, and legal documents.
- Liaise with local authorities to obtain required approvals and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Coordinate with environmental consultants to conduct necessary assessments and obtain environmental clearances.
- Work on any other related documenttations or approvals.
- Planning and Design:
- Work with architects and designers to develop detailed plans for the new office space, ensuring alignment with company requirements and industry standards.
- Review and finalize architectural and engineering plans, ensuring structural integrity, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.
- Oversee the preparation of construction documents and specifications.
- Project Management:
- Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of the project.
- Monitor construction progress, address any issues or delays, and ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Maintain clear and regular communication with senior management, providing updates on project status, risks, and milestones.
- Facilitate meetings and presentations to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the successful completion of the project.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety protocols are followed and address any safety concerns promptly.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager/Civil Engineer, preferably in commercial construction or office space development.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and regulations.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred: International experience/exposure.
