Assistant Manager – Human Resources & Administration

Lanka Education and Research Network (LEARN) is the National Research and Education Network (NREN) of Sri Lanka. We interconnect universities, other higher education and research institutes in Sri Lanka and provide networking-related services. Applications are hereby invited from citizens of Sri Lanka for the Assistant Manager – Human Resources & Administration post in our office located at the University of Peradeniya.

The Assistant Manager – Human Resources (HR) and Administration is responsible for managing and developing human resources at LEARN while carrying out administrative functions. The position is on a contract basis for one year with possible extension/permanency.

 

Job Description:

  • Recruitment, retention, compliance, compensation, benefits, training and development of employees.

  • Maintaining both physical and digital records

  • Organizing events

  • Creating policies and guidelines along with LEARN management's decisions

  • Maintaining agreements/MoUs with stakeholders

  • Providing required information related to HR and Administration when requested by decision-makers and third-party including auditors, as required.

  • Overseeing the procurement processes of LEARN

  • Provide necessary administrative services for activities of all other departments 

  • Manage the LEARN office, its facilities and support staff to ensure smooth and efficient performance in all the areas

  • Covering Operations Manager's duties and responsibilities in the absence

 

Qualification and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Management, or related discipline from a state or UGC approved/recognized university

And/ or

A professional qualification completed in a reputed institute

With following prerequisites

  • Broad knowledge in human resources as well as administrative functions

  • Familiar with the country's specific laws and regulations governing HR

  • Ability to define issues, establish facts, analyse situations and make decisions or forward for relevant officials

  • Excellent written and verbal English as well as Sinhala language skills

  • Strong understanding of confidentiality relates to HR

  • Proficient in MS office package

  • Ability to work as a leader as well as a team player

  • Adaptability to work in dynamic working environments

  • Candidates that have proven experience in the field of HR & Administrative area will be prioritized.

The subject of the email should contain "Application for the Assistant Manager - HR & Admin".
